The Plant Mother about Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng

My Golden Tips for Caring for your Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng

If you are like me and love plants, you know that every plant has its own character. Today I want to introduce you to one of my favorites: the Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng, better known as the Bonsai Ficus. This little powerhouse is not only a feast for the eyes, but also a plant that is easy to care for. Here I share my tips on how to keep it happy and healthy.

To keep a close eye on them, I recommend the following rhythm :

  • Monday : Check if the soil is still moist. The Ficus Ginseng likes a slightly moist soil, so water it when the top layer feels dry.
  • Wednesday : Check its leaves for dust and wipe them gently with a soft, damp cloth. This will keep it fresh and allow it to breathe better.
  • Friday : Treat your Ficus to some extra love by increasing the humidity around it. A fine mist from a plant sprayer works wonders.

For the seasonal changes, here are some tips :

  • Spring : This is the growing season of the Ficus Ginseng. Increase the watering slightly and consider repotting it once it seems to be outgrowing its current pot.
  • Summer : Make sure it is not in direct, bright sunlight as this can damage its leaves. Keep the soil moist.
  • Fall : Reduce watering and begin preparing for winter. Make sure it still gets enough light, but beware of cold drafts.
  • Winter : Move it a little closer to the window for light, but keep it away from radiators and draughts. Reduce watering.

My interior styling advice : The Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng looks great on a low coffee table or a plant table near a window. Its unique shape makes it a real eye-catcher in minimalist interiors, but it also fits perfectly in a more traditionally decorated space. Combine it with other plants of different heights and textures to create a lively, green corner in your home.
